bring on the bull
today has been a BIG day.
first, i was made featured traveller of the week by this new community website called Matador. just scroll on down the main page to see me in my finery. also, i sent them my ethiopia article, so perhaps they'll publish it? they seem to like me, so that's a good sign!
the other news involves the fate of the planet. i'll tell you more if it solidifies. the news, not the planet.
it's a possible job that's pretty much just what i'm looking for.

Awesome! Good to see your mad skillz being properly respected. Really hope things come through with the job. This has been a good couple of weeks for people getting their ideal jobs, so hoping the goodness will keep flowing toward you too.
One thought I had about your situation, which may be totally irrelevant if things go well, but have you considered doing any volunteer work during your downtime while looking for a job? Something that gets you out of the house a few hours every day or week, still leaving time for job searching and such, but that helps make the world a better place? Maybe even volunteer your web/writing skillz for a charity or non-profit or some such?
Seems like a win win. Your days would be more occupied, you'd be productive and useful, you'd be making the world a better place, you'd probably meet lots of rad people who could introduce you to future job potentials, and you could build up some local experience to pad the ole resume.
Alternately, you could read the 400 books on my to-read list, and then beam the pleasure and content of them straight into my brain.
