Jambo
we live.
two quick things.
1) middle of the night. plane number two. hour number zillion. as i watch, the blackness of the mediterranean is woken by the little crystal lights of the lybian coast. soft fog rolls off the desert into the sea, like a reverse wave. as if the desert is trying to soak up the sea. we're over africa.
2) so jet-lagged i can't see straight. sitting in the cool blue open lounge. to my right, the infinity pool and the sound of the sea. the orange moon cresting over the cliffs. the wind in the palms. to my left, a figure appears out of the darkness. deep maroon robes. thick white bracelets. a spear. the Masai turns to see me. "Hello." he says. africa indeed.

what? seriously? sounds like a hallucination. i hope you didn't get the brain fever already.
or worse yet, i hope you didn't accidentally end up in eurodisneyland.
The adventure has begun...sounds beautifully dreamy (save for the jet-lag part, but without that it probably wouldn't seem so dreamy).
so happy to hear you've arrived safely...my vicarious trip begins now as you drink up the sea and landscape. enjoy, be well, and write soon. miss you guys already.
Habari gani?
Mzuri sana should always be your answer when you are on honeymoon in eastern africa.
Remember: eat as much mandazi as you can!
Eurodisneyland would be awesome. Seriously, I don't know why you guys went all the way to Africa when Epcot's only, like, six hours from here.
OhmyGOD!!!
My life is suddenly more interesting: I know someone in Africa
Love to yu both!
