Ich Bin Ein

i got invited to dinner at nine tonight.

what? is this freakin' europe? do i look, uh, like a castle? am i wearing a goddamned speed-o?

that would be funny, 'cause i'm at work. i dare you to go to work on monday in a speed-o and goggles. you could also shave your chest. you know, to cut down on the drag.

dinner at nine is about two hours after i'm hungry. plus, if we say "nine" that means by the time everyone shows up and sits down and the food comes it's gonna be at least 9:45.

that's when i want breakfast.

but what are you gonna do? eat first, that's what you're gonna do. you're gonna eat some leftovers at home and then pretend to be on a diet at the restaurant. (no, no, i couldn't. i need to wear a speed-o on monday and i should drop a few pounds) and then toss in a couple of bucks at the end for the meing kum you nibbled on.

then we're going dancing at the sublounge 'cause zay has turned thirty.

i haven't been dancing in a while. i hope my old bones can take it. i did actually sleep last night, so at least i'm finally rested. and tomorrow is saturday! i can sleep ALL day.

and monday? yep! i've got jury duty!

i wonder if this time i'll actually be called? i can only take so much rejection.

speaking of rejection, i spurn you Napoleon Dynamite. we watched this last night and i was not really amused. or interested. although i did find that side-head ponytail thing vaguely arousing.

it reminded me of Welcome to the Dollhouse, but in sort of a dopey cousin way. i should watch that movie again. instead, my Netflix queue is looking kinda grim. madhavi's loading the front end with Buffy episodes and i've got little to push instead. it's full of all these old films i sort of want to see, but not really.

who's got a good movie for me? anyone? did anyone see Primer? what about, uh, uh...

sin city.

WTD was great in that everything that happened was brutal and there were so many places where it could have had some happy ending, but it just chose not to. ND tried to make the same thing but ironic and funny, but wasn't. and then it had a alternative happy ending. i agree, what's the hoo-hah about? really.

last life in the universe is coming out on dvd next week, that's good. come on, there aren't a zillion old great movies you haven't seen and need to? i've got like 500+ on my greencine queue. and most of those aren't even porn. really.

bitch, bitch, bitch! you're so whiny! what are you, french or something? we had dinner at 8:30 and you loved it. dinner at 7 is totally played out...and this way, i got to have a drink with my dad and show up plastered.

as for napoleon dynamite...eh. it was cute. damian says you have to be a boy to like it, which may be why you, madhavi, and i aren't terribly enthusiastic.

:P
