To Ill or Not Too Ill
i went home sick on monday. i stayed home sick yesterday. i probably should have stayed home sick today as well.
but am i really ill? i don't believe so. just really tired and worked from hosting my mother-in-law.
she's perfectly nice, it's just exhausting. there's all this drama about madhavi's missing-in-action sister. mom's come all the way from australia and sister has not appeared. no one even knows where she is. last reports had her in SF, but...
so yes. i'm tired. i really just want to stay home and watch the extended version of Return of the King because at three hours long, the regular release version just didn't give me enough elf-love.
oh crap. now it looks like my brother-in-law's father's health has taken a turn from worse to worse-worse. it really just isn't my week.
i should go home sick again now, except i've got tickets for us to take mom-in-law to the concert tonight and that looks bad: too sick to work, but not too sick to give backstage tours.
blargh.
it's time for me to start hibernating again. i really should move to the tropics and stay there.
madhavi bought a wedding dress on monday.
yep. we have dressage. we are dressed. this fact got overshadowed by sister drama, but it is worth stopping to appreciate.
it's a huge relief for her. and makes it all real-ier.
i now catch myself pausing to picture her in it. that's ka-razy. not that i've seen it, or will see it before the day, but...
oh. and we had a wedding shower which my sister threw for us. we just invited our married friends, as that seemed appropriate, and my sister's place isn't that large. the whole thing was a bit much for me. i now know the answer to this question: what is worse? watching someone unwrap presents or unwrapping presents in front of people.
it's the later.
we got an absolute fuckload of pots. pots pots pots. anyone need some perfectly fine but kind of old pots? how about some non-matching wine glasses? we need to get rid of old to make room for new.
i'm thinking i'll wear a brown suit to my wedding. something rich and soft.
rich and soft sounds good.

1. corduroy (brown)
2. mohair (brown)
3. tweed (brown, with elbow patches)
4. velour (brown)
to our credit, we did not buy you pots.
to our discredit, we did not buy you pot.
