Half the Devil

i was right.

meeting with the rabbi was intense. we've been talking wedding for a while now. last night, we talked about marriage.

let me just say this: actually walking through the ceremony with the rabbi, picturing yourself up under the chuppah stomping on a glass, picturing seeing your bride walk down the aisle to meet you -- this is more intense than deciding what color ink you'll use on the invitations.

michael, our rabbi and my brother-in-law, says he is concerned with making sure our wedding is holy. he says "i'm interested in your wedding -- which is going to be out of this world no matter what we do -- but i'm really interested in your marriage."

thank you michael for the reality check.

location, dates, florists, caterers... that's all wedding stuff and that's all business.

i need to remember that i'm doing all that as a side project to marrying myself to madhavi. in being wed.

michael talks about how he's going to build drama with our friends and family so everyone explodes with joy and dances with fervor. he says it's his goal to get as many people we love there as possible.

all that makes my heart tremble. thinking about my wedding for reals. thinking about saying "i do" and meaning it.

we've also picked a first choice date: september 17th, 2005. that's the day i hope to be married. 333 days to go. if my math is right. which it might be.

also, in sign of the coming apocalypse i've decided to skip seeing a movie to watch the sox game tonight and madhavi was literally off her feet, screaming with excitement when they won on monday morning.

dare i say it?

go sox!
