Adjustments

boy. moving sure takes a lot out of you. once again, i went to bed at 10:00 last night.

in defence, madhavi had to be up at dawn's crack this morning to go diving and we still haven't hung any curtains so it's supa bright in the morning. (if you want to skulk around outside our place you could get a glimpse of my boo-tay.)

plus, we finished setting up the office and tried to make sense of the living room last night. it feels like we have a ton of furniture but none of it is quite right. want to trade?

we could use some sort of armoire-thing for the hall for linens and such. and something better for the tv/stereo. and for god sakes! where the hell are all these shoes supposed to go. i think i will make a shoe-pyramid so future generations can behold its majesty and tremble in awe and wonder.

also. we need some guinea pigs and a stoat. for entertainment.

today, i got to pick up some poop. when i woke up, i wasn't sure if madhavi had taken the shed-a-beast for a walk so when i realized that all the towels were still down in the dryer and i couldn't shower without going downstairs anyway, i figured hey! what's a better shower-substitute than poop handling!

it's a good thing i did, too, cause kaya had to go and you know what they say:

it's better to pick up poop outside than inside.

then i got latte. then i tried to get the latte and the towels and the dog in the apartment (but not the poop) while discarding the scolding note from the recyclatrons who disapproved of our stack of broken down boxes. by then there was no time for the showering.

from this, we learn zack's priorities:
1) poop handling
2) coffee injection
3) scold avoidance
4) ritual cleansing of self
5) buying flowers for madhavi so i can hand them to her and say "welcome home"

we're going away this weekend (duh, i told you that already, pay attention!) in what is perhaps the most inconveniently timed family vacation ever. we really just need to stay home and unpack and nest. and buy groceries so we can unpack them and then have more empty bags for poop handling. see? priorities!

i think this is a good flower day. it's been really hard work moving, and adjusting, and going away this weekend is kinda crappy ergo i will purchase and apply flowers to girlfriend in an easy two-step process i highly recommend you try out yourself. even if you don't have a girlfriend. you could do what me and the long lost jesse did once. we were working this event and finished late at night with a few dozen red roses left on the tables. so we grabbed 'em, drove around SF at 2:00 am on his motorcycle and pulled up to random women on the street and handed them roses. gosh. that's pretty dashing, huh? imagine waiting for the bus that never comes at 2:00 am and having some guy on a bike pull up to hand you flowers before racing off.

i will even go so far as to recommend a florist! you should go to church street flowers. they have really purty roses there. they smell good. today, though, i will not go there because i no longer live around the corner. today i will go to rose and radish which is even posher and conveniently located a block from the symphony.

i think i will go for garden roses. garden roses, experiments show, go over very well with madhavis. especially when she's exhausted from diving.

boy. i wish i had taken a shower. and bought stock in microsoft a long time ago.

i also wish that everyone in the world could live together in peace and harmony and that i could fly and that my grandpas were still alive and that i could find a leprechaun who would be my friend and we could have all sorts of adventures together under the rainbow.

the end.

it's a scientific fact that leprechauns don't like flowers. which blows your whole premise to smithereens. smithereens, i say!
