No Place Like Home
there are many many many reasons why i love living in my flat. i love living with lisa and kathrin. i love my beautiful kitchen, the garden, my big orange room with private bath, the fountain out back, the location, max the poodle, and being able to walk to work.
but i'm moving out. 'cause i love madhavi more and we're moving in together.
we decided to find a place together over the course of last week. she was moving out of her place anyway and was going to find a place near me, but in the course of all the searching/looking/interviewing, a lot of friends and family members were asking us: why aren't you just moving in together?
we'd talked about it, but decided it wasn't quite time, even though having her move into some place and then move again when we were ready seemed a bit daft. you just shouldn't rush some things.
i guess over last week we both realized that we were ready, eager even, to live together. to go grocery shopping together again. to decorate together. to not have to ask, "will i see you tonight?" "your place or mine?"
our place.
we celebrated last night -- after having told all the crucial parties; our respective housemates, our parents, and jason -- with a home cooked meal of roast chicken, mashed taters, candied walnut and pear salad, a cabernet, and peach and razzleberry pie. girl can cook! (and i'm a fine sous-chef.)
we plotted the decoration of our home to be. blowing up more large prints of our travel shots and creating a whole wall of photos of us dressed up like morons from various parties.
i just feel really lucky. i can remember so clearly the first time i met madhavi, at her parents house three years ago. i asked bahati about her but was told she wasn't single. alas! in all the time since then there have been so many moments when i've stopped and wished and dreamed about her. casually and then intensely.
now we're moving in together. i almost don't believe it.
we're saying september first, but we're starting to look now. my room in the dump will be open so you could start buttering up lisa and kathrin if you're interested. we're looking for a one or two bedroom in a nice central neighborhood that will take a dog. something with character and a double-basin sink. if you see anything choice, please let us know.

wow.
ok, stop it already. my head hurts.
Oh man, every day you crack me up with new dress-up party photos. You guys are out of control with the whole dress-up party thing. Man, I am impressed! You guys have BALLS.
Oh, um, oops, I meant to say "congratulations".
(incidentally, you might want to, uh, consider going "whole hog" - you know, aisle-walking? Then you can have sex!)
that is so sweet. congratulations. how long have you guys been going out? i guess this means you don't have a crush on me?
